01 The bet
Everyone reads their messages in five places.
Nobody chose to split their life across WhatsApp, SMS, Telegram, Discord and Slack. It happened one app at a time. Switching between them is the small problem. The real one is that nothing can see across them, so there is no search that covers everything and no way to act on the appointment buried in last week's thread.
An inbox that sees everything is the obvious product and the hard one. Seeing everything is exactly what nobody should hand to a server. So the sorting runs on the phone and we never hold the data.
02 What it is

- Sorting Scam texts flagged before you open them, appointments, invoices and parcels pulled out of the message, and full text search across every channel at once. Fixed rules, no model, nothing that learns.

- Privacy The processing runs on the phone. No Textly server holds your messages, no third party sees them, and there is no analytics SDK.
- Automation
- Actions Appointments, invoices, parcels and tasks are picked out of the messages that mention them. Scam and spam detection runs in the same pass.
03 Its role in the portfolio
The surface people open every day.
Messaging is the one app people open without a reason. That makes Textly the cheapest place we have to put something new in front of people, and the strictest test of whether it belongs there. An inbox that annoys you is gone the same week.
It is also the clearest thing we can point at. Doing the sorting on the device is slower to build and worth less to us commercially, because we never hold the data. See The system for how the three fit together.
